April 02, 2021: Good Friday...Jesus Surrendered His All for Us on This Day...Why Can't We?

When I think of Good Friday, I think about all that Jesus gave up for us. He went through a horrible death on the cross and suffered greatly for each one of us. In the Garden Gethsemane, on the night of His betray, Jesus was praying to His Father that if this cup could pass Him over, but He told God, "Not my will, but Your will be done".

Mark 14: 35-36 (NIV)

Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible, the hour might pass from Him.36 “Abba, Father,” He said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

Jesus surrendered all of Himself for us...He gave His all so that we may have a relationship with our God again just as Adam and Eve had in the beginning of creation. God created us, His children, to have an ongoing relationship with Him. That is how much He loves us.

The question for us is this: Are you ready now to "absolutely surrender" all of yourself to Him to be able to receive the grace and peace He has waiting for you?

May this day, Good Friday, and this coming Easter Sunday, bring you to remembrance of all that our Lord, Jesus Christ, has done for us. May we humble ourselves before God and give Him the praise and glory He truly deserves...Amen!
