What is the cause of weakness in the Christian life? What must we do to overcome this constant weakness we face daily in our walk? (Page 52)

ANSWER To Question 4 (As stated by the Author)

The cause of the weakness of your Christian life is that you want to work it out partly, and to let God help you. And that cannot be. You must come to be utterly helpless, to let God work, and God will work gloriously. It is this that we need if we are indeed to be workers for God.

You see, when we usually pray to God, we ask God to help us do this, or that. This is typically our prayer to God: "God I pray that you help me....." or "God I need you to open the door to the work I want to do for you". You see our greatest problem is, "me, myself and I". We place ourselves before God and ask God to bless our prayer and wants. We are basically saying to God...."God, get behind me and bless my prayer, and follow me".

We must come to say, "Lord, I surrender this situation, or want or need, and give it to You. I trust "Your will" be done in this situation. Supply Your grace as I wait on You". Do you see the difference? May God give us the wisdom to surrender all to Him and wait upon His moving in us through the Holy Spirit!!!
