QUESTION: 3

What is the definition of the “Regenerate Man” as described by the author? Does the Regenerate Man delight in the Law of God but still struggle with his or her sinful nature? Why? (Page 57)

ANSWER To Question 3 (As stated by the Author)

There is much evidence of regeneration from the fourteenth verse of Romans 7 on to the twenty-third. "It is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me" (Rom. 7:17): that is the language of a regenerate man, a man who knows that his heart and nature have been renewed, and that sin is now a power in him that is not himself. "I delight in the law of the Lord after the inward man" (Rom. 7:22): that again is the language of a regenerate man.

We are now getting into the heart of this book and understanding what true absolute surrender means in a Christian's life. As we move further into this chapter of "O What A Wretched Man That I Am!" we will come to understand what the apostle Paul is leading us to when we move into Chapter 8 of Romans. We will begin to find our freedom in our Lord and Savior and begin living a life of "true rest and peace."
