In the Book of Galatians, the Apostle Paul, speaks to the Galatians about their adoption as children of God because they have put their faith in Jesus Christ. Paul also tells the Galatian believers, in Jesus, that because they have been adopted as sons, they’ve also been given the Spirit of His Son to live in their hearts.

Galatians 3: 26-27 (NKJV)

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

All of us, because of our faith in Jesus Christ, and as believers, that the moment of our salvation Paul describes how the presence of the Spirit of Jesus, in our hearts, is "our inheritance" as children of God.

As I began to reflect on this thought in my mind, that I am truly a "child of God's", because I have put my faith in His Son, Jesus, I became overwhelmed with feelings of joy and humbled at the same time. To think, the God of this universe, considers me a child of His.

As I began my journey as a child of God over 40 years ago, I can think back to the very moment I accepted Jesus into my heart. As I confessed Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I felt a heavy load taken off my shoulders. It was the load of guilt that I had been carrying around with me for many years for the way I had treated my first wife. I was so ashamed of my life. But Jesus freed me of that shame.

It was about the first week of my walk with the Lord, I knew something was different in my life. It was a dark, cold and raining evening, while I was working, that I was put into a very difficult situation at work. All of a sudden I became so upset that I open my mouth to curse. I realized I couldn't curse God. Why? Because I was now a child of His. I had His Holy Spirit living in my heart. At that moment, I knew in my heart, that I was truly a part of His family.

All of us, of who have put their faith in God's Son, can rest assured, that we will be home with our Father one day and with all our other family members who have put their faith in Jesus Christ. The following Psalm speaks about our faith in our Heavenly Father and how we must continually be "absolutely surrendered" to Him at all times and find our rest with Him.

Psalms 62: 1-2 (NKJV)

Truly my soul silently waits for God;

From Him comes my salvation.

2 He only is my rock and my salvation;

He is my defense;

I shall not be greatly moved.

PERSONNAL COMMENT:

Let us always "silently wait" for our God. Let us not be moved off our "Foundation of Salvation" with our God. He is our defense and our Rock forever...Amen!
