Reading an article in Time Magazine entitled, "Our Epidemic Of Loneliness", while sitting in the waiting room while my son is getting his root canal, I realize that we as Christians may face this epidemic as well.
So how do we as Christians face this problem especially now with our liberty of worshipping with one another is in jeopardy? How do we fulfill that most inner need of fellowship with each other? How do we fill the feelings of emptiness we sometimes face as Christians?
To answer these questions, all I can do is let you know what I do, on a daily basis. Well before the coroner virus started, I made it my duty, my desire to start every day with God's daily bread. I would read my daily devotional from "Our Daily Bread " and then read the suggested reading to be able to read the complete bible in a year's time.
I have done this since my "absolute surrender" to my Lord since November of 2013. From that time over the last seven years, I have found a love for God I have never had over my first 35 years as a Christian. I have found a communion with my Creator that He always intended me to have with Him.
This relationship with God has given me a sense of need, want and especially love, that fulfills the depths of my soul. This depth of love began first and foremost with my "absolute surrender" to Him.
PERSONAL COMMITMENT:
We must learn to put aside our personal feelings we struggle with and learn to lean on the promises of God. God's promises must supersede our feelings that we face daily and come to rest on the very attributes of who God is. These attributes include: Omnipotent, all powerful; Omniscient, all-knowing; Omnipresent, He is always everywhere. God is also Faithful, all Loving, Merciful and Just to name only a few. That is why Jesus calls us to rest in Him, to lay all our burdens on Him, and we will find true rest for our souls.
