As I go through a difficult time in my life at this moment, I still know in my heart that God is still right here with me. His love and compassion never fail me. He knows every circumstance that surrounds me. Nothing is a surprise to Him. As I read Psalm 86 this morning from today's "Our Daily Bread", I was reminded once again of God's mercy and love.
Psalm 86: 1-4
Hear me, Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Guard my life, for I am faithful to you,
save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; 3 have mercy on me, Lord,
for I call to you all day long.
4 Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
for I put my trust in you.
The darkness we face every day of our lives can be very overwhelming at times, but it is in that darkness we must open our eyes to see the "Light of Jesus", who is always there with us, if we will only put our full and absolute trust in Him. I am reminded to the words of Jesus in the book of Matthew:
Matthew: 6:22
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
The darkness that seems to surround us, may be due to the problem of our eye. We may have failed to get our eyes checked. We must give up everything, surrender all our circumstances to our Lord, to be able see the "Light of Jesus".
PERSONNAL COMMENT:
I praise God for His everlasting love, mercy, and forgiveness He shows us every day if we would only open our eyes and surrender all to Him, to see His handiwork around us.
