Darkness is continually around us and the world is getting darker every day. As we see the horrific news from around the world come before us via our computers, cell phones, and television, we must wonder at times why God is allowing this to happen.
The thing is, God is not allowing this to happen. It is "man's self-will" and our "sinful nature" that chooses these awful things to happen. You see, God has given us, human beings, to have a free will. That "free will" can choose to do good or evil. God in His timing will judge those who have chosen to do evil.
Through these hard times, I still know in my heart that God is right here with me. His love and compassion will never fail us. He knows every circumstance that surrounds us. Nothing is a surprise to Him. As I read Psalm 86 this morning, I was reminded once again of God's mercy and love.
Psalm 86: 1-4
Hear me, Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Guard my life, for I am faithful to you,
save your servant who trusts in you.
You are my God; 3 have mercy on me, Lord,
for I call to you all day long.
4 Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
for I put my trust in you.
The darkness we face every day of our lives can be very overwhelming at times, but it is in that darkness we must open our eyes to see the "Light of Jesus", and in turn become the Light to other people around us. Let us share the "Light of Jesus" to the people around us who is walking in darkness. Let God lead us in the direction He needs us to go. I am reminded to the words of Jesus in the book of Matthew:

Matthew: 6:22
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
The darkness that seems to surround us, may be due to the problem of our eye. We may have failed to get our eyes checked. We must give up everything, surrender all our circumstances to our Lord, to be able see the "Light of Jesus".
PERSONNAL COMMENT:
I praise God for His everlasting love, mercy, and forgiveness He shows us every day if we would only open our eyes and let the "Light of Jesus" shine through us...Amen!
