As we go through trials, I am sure we sometimes wonder what God is doing in our lives. I am sure we may even question God for what He is doing, I know I do at times. But we have a great God who is "all-knowing" and "always present' in our lives. In the book of 2 Corinthians, the Apostle Paul opens his letter to the Corinthians with the following:

ree

2 Corinthians 1: 3-4

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

For us to be able to comfort others in their trials, we must first be able to see God's comfort in our own. In a previous post, we spoke about being joyful in trials; "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance". (James 1: 2-3 NIV)

Knowing that God is in total control of all things in our life and to know that no pain goes unnoticed by God, we can rest assured that God is allowing something good to happen in our lives because of the trial.

To be able to see this good happening in our life, we must first turn our eyes off ourselves and begin to see our circumstances from God's perspective. God sees the good that is about to take place in our lives two, three or four weeks down the road. He knows the joy that will come and the joy you will be able to share with others. So, consider it joy when the trial does come, and look at the circumstances from God's point of view.

PERSONNAL COMMENT:

For us to be able to receive God's comfort in our hearts and then be able to share this comfort with others, we must first allow the Holy Spirit to be in control of our hearts. And this can only come with our "full and absolute surrender" to God. It is through our surrender that God will lift us up beyond our pain and suffering and see things from His glorious perspective. What a great and loving God we have!
