In today's reading of "Our Daily Bread" entitled; "Beautifully Broken", I am reminded of our God who is in the business of fixing broken vessels, us. Many times, in our lives we feel broken and believe that we are "unfixable".

But that is so not true. We worship a God of mercy, grace, and most of all, "great love". His love is everlasting and never fails. But all He ask of us is to come before Him with a "broken heart" and lay down our burdens at His feet. Many times, we want to hold to those burdens thinking we can fix them ourselves.

Coming to our God with an "absolute surrendered" heart takes great trust on our part. We must believe He is there, willing, and able, to comfort us and heal our broken hearts. In Psalm 31, King David, believed in His God and believed that God would protect him, no matter his circumstances. Read the following and see if you can trust as David did.

ree

Psalm 31: 14-16, 19-20 (NKJV)

But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord.

I say, “You are my God.”

15 My times are in Your hand.

Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,

And from those who persecute me. 16 Make Your face shine upon Your servant.

Save me for Your mercies’ sake.

19 Oh, how great is Your goodness,

Which You have laid up for those who fear You,

Which You have prepared for those who trust in You

In the presence of the sons of men!

20 You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence

From the plots of man.

During these times of the holidays, we can begin to feel helpless and unloved. God is calling us to turn to Him. This is the season to remember how much of His love He has given to us already. He sent Himself in the nature of a little child born in manger. His name is Jesus. Let us bow down at the feet of our Lord and worship our Savior.

PERSONNAL COMMENT:

Let us never forget the "Love of God" He has shown us through His unselfish act of coming down from heaven and choosing to be with us here on earth, that He may draw us to Himself, to be with Him forever in heaven. Let us come to "absolute surrender" of all our heart to Him and enjoy the comfort of His love forever...Amen!
