In Wednesday's post, February 15, 2021, it addressed the constant changes and influences in our life and the decisions we begin to make because of these changes. One of those changes that begin to happen in our hearts is that we can become indifferent to other people and even to the point of becoming unloving toward people.
How can we learn to love other people who become hurtful toward us and sometimes even downright mean? The following is an excerpt from the book" Absolute Surrender by Andrew Murray:

"Never until the Spirit of God fills my heart with God's love, and I begin to long for God's love in a very different sense from which I have sought it so selfishly, as a comfort and a joy and a happiness and a pleasure to myself; never until I begin to learn that "God is love," and to claim it, and receive it as an indwelling power for self-sacrifice; never until I begin to see that my glory, my blessedness, is to be like God and like Christ, in giving up everything in myself for my fellow-men".
The only way the Holy Spirit can work fully in our lives is by "us" getting out to the way and allow the Holy Spirit to be in full control of every aspect of our lives. We must stop thinking that God needs our help in the very situations we have already made a mess of. The only way God can begin to fix our mistakes is by letting God take full control. Our "absolute surrender" is crucial in allowing God's hand to intervene and correct our mistakes.
Romans 8: 28-29
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Romans 15: 13 (NKJV)
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
PERSONNAL COMMENT:
Wow! As you read that, you must be saying to yourself, "That's impossible to do!". You're right, it is, if you're doing it in your own power. But in God's power, all things are possible.
May the power of the Holy Spirit begin to change your heart in you so that your love can shine through to the people around you and in turn, they maybe drawn nearer to God as well.
