I Corinthians 1:20-31 is a very interesting passage. The Apostle Paul speaks about the wisdom of the world is no better than the foolishness of God.

vs: 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

I was listening to a message today by Pastor Chuck Swindoll and he spoke about two different mountain cliffs. On one side are the people of this world, professors, teachers, wise men and so on, but you still find these people struggle with finding true rest in their lives. Many turn to suicide never finding the rest and peace they are seeking for through their academic training and philosophy way of thinking.

But as you look to the other side of the mountain, you find people who have walked across this great cavern by the cross of Jesus. This simple gesture of faith and surrender to our Lord Jesus Christ in what He did for us on the cross; that He died for our sins and forever forgave us the penalty of our sins by just believing in Him. So simple, but so true.

For the wise man, this doesn't make sense. To the humble man, it makes a lot of sense. As we receive God's grace and mercy that He created for us through Christ Jesus, we are able to once again have a one-on-one relationship with our loving God.

Our surrender of ourselves, our self-will, is the key to finding "true rest" and "peace" in our life once again. It is through our surrender that the power of God's Holy Spirit comes to live in us and we receive the "Foundation Power and Wisdom" of God working through us.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
