As I was reading in "Our Daily Bread", I was reminded that we all face sorrow in our lifetime. Whether it's losing a loved one, sever sickness, financial ruin, and so much more. It all comes down to "our perspective" in how we will go through the circumstances. The Apostle Paul writes about this very thing in the Book of 2 Timothy.
2 Timothy 1:7-9 (NKJV)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
Think about the apostle Paul in his letter to Timothy, sitting in prison waiting to be executed. He knew eventually he would be home with the Lord in heaven, and he realized that nothing was going to stop him from sharing the good news of Christ, whether in sickness or potential death. His focus was always on Jesus on what Jesus called him to do.
God's grace is sufficient for every one of us, no matter the circumstances. But it all comes down to allowing the power of the Holy Spirit to control our lives, not ourselves. Our God is a powerful God who controls all the circumstances in nations, in the earth, and even our very own problems.

Psalms 46: 8-10 (NKJV) Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has made desolations in the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
As we live our lives for the Lord, let us not forget who it is who should be living out our lives for us. It is the Holy Spirit who should have the control of our hearts and minds. It is the Holy Spirit who will guide us through all our circumstances, whether good or bad.
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
PERSONAL COMMENT:
Let us remember that we have an all powerful God on our side. He is a loving Father who cares for His children. He doesn't allow anything to enter our lives that He does not have full control of. All is for His purpose and glory. We must always be "absolutely surrendered" to His will in our lives, moment-by-moment, and let us always keep our eyes on Jesus and keep God's perspective alive in us, at all times.
