As I read today's topic in "Our Daily Bread"...'Debt Eraser', the book of Ephesians comes to mind, especially chapter 2 versus 8-10:
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast. (Salvation) 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Surrendering)
For a long time in my Christian life I knew of and even memorized verses 8-9 as a part of sharing the good news of God's grace to others. It is through God's grace that we are saved, it is not because of anything we did or can do to earn our way into heaven..."so that no one can boast".
But then it wasn't until about a year ago that verse 10 in Ephesians jump out at me and opened my eyes to God's grace in our walk with Him. It is through God grace as well that everything we do in our lives as Christians must be accomplished by "His grace" and "our surrender".
You see, that by through our absolute and full surrender to our Lord, can He begin to do His "handiwork" in us. It is only when a vessel is fully surrendered in God's hand can He mold us into what He wants us to become for His use and good pleasure.
Praise God for His "Amazing Grace!"
Please share with me what God has done in your life to show you His grace in your salvation and in your surrender to Him.
