June 27, 2020; Our Heritage and Inheritance in Jesus..."Love Passed Down".

As I read in today's "Our Daily Bread", I can only think of the many men that the Lord has allowed me to me meet through the Prison Fellowship ministry and another ministry called Liberty Ranch in my home town. These men, as they share their background to me, share such heartache of a troubled childhood growing up. They have no real heritage to hang on to, no real inheritance that they can count on, at least not in this world.

But as we get to know each other over our counseling sessions together, I begin to see a ray of hope in their eyes as they share the love of their Savior in their heart. As we move further into our study of the book of "Absolute Surrender", their hope moves deeper into realizing their Heritage and Inheritance they never knew they had in their God and Savior.

What great joy that overflows from my heart to see a man come to realize the "true rest" they can find in Jesus with their absolute and full surrender to their Lord. So many years of hanging on to their unfruitful "self-will" and "self-effort" in their lives.

Their past years of heartaches have completely been washed away, and their new hope and "inheritance" are now their focus of their lives. Praise God for the "Heritage" He has given to each and everyone of us!
