Question 5:

“Self” is the great curse, whether it’s in relationship to God, or to our fellow-men, or to fellow-Christians, thinking of ourselves and seeking our own. We often pray and ask God to deliver us from our selfish life so that we can serve God better. But we forget that living an “unselfish life”, means something else. What might that be and why? (Page 18)

ANSWER To Question 5 (As stated by the Author)

But I am afraid some people think deliverance from the self-life means that now they are going to have no longer any trouble in serving God; and they forget that diverance from self-life means to be a vessel overflowing with love to everybody all the day.

And there you have reason why many people pray for the power of the Holy Spirit, and they get something, but oh, so little! because they prayer for power for work, and power for blessing, but they have not prayed for the power for full deliverance from "self".

Our life is so consumed with "self", that everything we do has our "self-will" involved with every decision we make, even with the work of God. We must remove ourselves from any equation of our work and rely fully on the power of the Holy Spirit, not ours.
