QUESTION: 2
We often pray for God’s help in making plans for our lives and for doing the work we believe He wants us to do: Is there anything wrong in thinking that way? (Page 30)
ANSWER To Question 2 (As stated by the Author)
We have simply to be faithful in obedience, carrying out His orders. God has a plan for His Church upon earth. But alas! we too often make our plan, and we think that we know what ought to be done. We ask God first to bless our feeble efforts, instead of absolutely refusing to go unless God goes before us. God has planned for the work and the extension of His kingdom. The Holy Spirit has had that work given in charge to Him.
We all as true believers want to do God's work with an earnest heart. But we must never forget that it is not us doing the work, but it is the Holy Spirit who does the work through us. We must refuse to unless God show us that He is leading us through the Holy Spirit. Don't forget what the Apostle Paul said to us in Ephesians 2:10: "We are His "workmanship" created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them"
Just as the two previous verses, (8 & 9), speaks about our salvation is based on God's grace, His grace continues is verse 10 as well when it comes to the work He does through us...it's all based on His grace, not our own works. May God continue to teach us to live and work by His grace, not on our own efforts!!!
