QUESTION: 1

What are the “two sides” that the author highlights when speaks he about being “Kept by The Power of God”. What do these “two sides” do regarding, our “inheritance” as children of God? (Page 76)

ANSWER To Question 1 (As stated by the Author)

There we have two wonderful, blessed truths about the keeping by which a believer is kept unto salvation. One truth is, Kept by the Power of God; and the other truth is, Kept Through Faith. We should look at the two sides-at God's side and His almighty power, offered to us to be our Keeper every moment of the day; and at the human side, we having nothing to do but in faith to let God do His keeping work. We are begotten again to an inheritance kept in Heaven for us; and we are kept here on earth by the power of God. We see there is a double keeping-the inheritance kept for me in Heaven, and I on earth kept for the inheritance there.

Personal Comment:

As we come to our last two chapters of Absolute Surrender, this chapter begins to help us understand that we have an inheritance as Christians with our heavenly Father. The author goes on to explain this inheritance is similar to an inheritance we receive from our earthly father. Our father works his whole life to be able to leave his children something after he passes on.

Now if our earthly father worked his whole life and accumulated a fortune for his children but never educated his children, that he allowed them to run upon the street wild, and to go on in paths of sin and ignorance and folly, what would you think of that kind of father?

So as we look at our inheritance that is being kept by our great God, do you think He's going to let us walk recklessly and not discipline as we need to be in our walk with Him. I think not...that because our Father in heaven loves us.
