In today's world we are constantly being bombarded with commercials about growing up and being the man, or women we want to be, or become. We need to grow up and be mature in our thinking and stand up for our rights.
But from God's eyes, He says the complete opposite from the way we should become if we want to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Read the following in the Book of Mark:
Mark 10: 13-16
13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.
The words of Jesus are very, strong words..."Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it."
When you think about how a child is like, when they are four or five years old, they are very trusting. I believe that it is natural for a child to believe in God. As parents, we try to protect our children from the ugliness of this world.
But as we grow older and mature, we come to learn the wrong things in life. I also believe that people come to learn atheism. Something happens, a time in our life, that we turn our back on God. We come to believe that God turned His back on us. But He did not...He died for us. He sacrificed Himself on the cross for us so that we can have eternal life with Him.
But to be able to receive this great gift of eternal life from God, we must begin to believe as a child once again. We must "surrender" our "self-will" and fully trust God once again as a little child.
PERSONNAL COMMENT:
To have a "child-like" attitude or heart, we must be willing to give up our self-will, the world's way of thinking. Believe in God once again and trust Him for your eternal life and find your "true rest" in Him as He opens the doors to His Kingdom to you as His child.

Jeff...God is faithful and always keeps His word. As long as we continue to seek Him with our whole heart and continually surrender ourselves moment-by-moment to Him, your light will shine through to others to show God's love in you. Praise God!
Thanks Ed, I want to learn to trust Him with every area of my life. It's hard to do that, I fail everyday. But I know God is faithful, and His word is true, I pray now more than ever that He will help me be more like Him.
