November 12, 2021: Does Our Circumstances Determined Our Belief If God Is Working in Our Life?

When we are facing difficult and unyielding circumstances...many times these circumstances can affect our belief or faith that God is still working in our lives. It becomes very difficult when we are in the middle of these trials, to see God at work in our lives. Our faith and belief in God are challenged to the core of our very being at times.

It is during these tough times that we must come to trust God and believe that He is with us. We should not rely on our feelings to believe that God is with us...We need to rely on His promises He gives us in His Word, for strength and courage. Here are a few of His promises that God has given us:

Deuteronomy 31: 8

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Joshua 1: 9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Matthew 28: 20

"And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

If as we are willing to believe and trust in God, not our feelings, our faith in God will continue to grow in Him despite our circumstances. In the Book of James, the outcome of our trials should produce in us maturity and completeness in our lives.

James 1: 2-4

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

PERSONNAL COMMENT:

If we are willing to walk in faith with God with "complete and absolute surrender" to Him, it is then and only then, will we begin to experience the faith that God has intended us to have with Him. This kind of faith will bring us "peace and rest" in our lives that will surpass all understanding and will overcome any circumstances that may come our way. May we trust that God is working—even when we do not see the final outcome.
