What is faith? If we were to ask a handful of people, I am sure we would produce many different answers. But the walk in the life of a Christian is much different than the world's point of view.

Our faith as Christians, is not a blind faith, it is faith in God, the God of this universe. In the Book of Hebrews in chapter 11 verse 3, says the following:

"By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible".

What this verse is saying is that what we see, feel, and touch, in this world we live in, was not created by someone we could see, but was created by the Spirit of God, who we cannot see. If we believe in this, then this is faith...Faith in the living God.

In the first verse of chapter 11 of Hebrews, it says the following: "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." What do we hope for? We hope for many things in our lives. We cannot see what we hope for, but we are hoping for the assurance that it may come true. If we only hope in this way, this is considered "blind faith", a faith in nothing.

The faith of a Christian should be in the "Living God", and in "His Son, Jesus Christ," in what He did for us on the cross. This is true faith! Our faith must be put into practice every day of our lives. If we believe in God, we must believe in the promises He has given us, in His Word, the Bible. If we say with our mouth that we believe, and not put it into practice, then our faith means nothing. Read the following is verse 6 of Hebrews:

ree

Hebrews 11: 6

And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

PERSONNAL COMMENT:

To be able to come to true faith, we must first "absolutely surrender" everything to God, believe in Him and in what He did for us through the cross of His Son, Jesus...He died for us for the forgiveness of our sins that we may be able to communicate with God once again. We must earnestly seek after God so that the measure of our faith, when we face obstacles, is reliant on God's strength, not our own. Do we need to know every detail of God’s plan for our life, or do we need to fully put our faith in the Spirit of the Living God and His promises?
