October 11, 2021: Are We in Control of Our Destiny? Are We Allowing God to Take a Part as Well?

The above questions are actually "trick" questions. If we have been following Salvation2Surrender.com, we should already know the answers. But to help us a little, I would like to share the following verse from the Book of Galatians:

Galatians 2: 20 (NKJV)

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

The heart of the above verse is: "it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me". You see, if we have truly allowed ourselves to be "crucified with Christ", we should no longer be in control of anything in our life; our destiny, our future or even our choices we make every day of our lives. It is Christ "in us" that should be giving us directions and choosing the path of our destiny, which is home with Him in heaven.

And then the Apostle Paul goes on to say, "and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God". What the Apostle Paul is saying here is that this "fleshly body" that we have, will continue until Christ comes to takes us home with Him. We must live by faith in the Son of God. This faith that we have, must be focused on God's promises, (the Bible), He has given to us to live by and not to live by our "feelings" we struggle with daily.

Our flesh continually gets in the way of our faith in God. We must remember that we are "crucified with Christ", we must continually be surrendered to God daily, moment-by-moment.

Finally, the Apostle Paul ends this verse with, "who loved me and gave Himself for me". God's love for us should become the very reason we want to live a life pleasing and glorifying to God. He sent His Son to die in our place for our sins.

PERSONAL COMMENT:

This kind of love should humble us to the point of wanting to serve God in every way possible with our life. Our destiny should be His destiny for us. The questions should not be, "Are we allowing God to take part of our life". No, we should be saying, "God is my life...I give Him full and absolute control of everything that I am.
