October 4, 2021: Is Our Life Story Complete? Who's Writing Your Story, Are You or Is Christ in You?

As we write letters to our friends or family, our minds are thinking of what to write, what to say, and the details that are involved in completing the story. As I have been reading the bible starting in Genesis and coming to conclusion in the Old Testament and soon will be reading the New Testament, I realized that the complete bible of sixty-six books, written by forty authors, all share the complete history of the world, from one Author's point of view.

If we really think about it, how can so many authors of a span of thousands of years write about the full history of the world and tie it altogether with the conclusion in the Book of Revelation? The answer can only be that there is only one-true Author, God Himself.

You see, our life has its own story as well. We have been trying to author

our own story since the time we have been making our own decisions. But over the years, many of us have made a complete mess of everything. We have gotten off track of where we want to be. At some point in our lives, we turned to God because of the mess we have made. We turned to Jesus, our Savior, to save us from ourselves and our sins-nature we struggle with.

But then we began to start taking control of our decision making again, as Christians, and then as things started to become messed up again, we began to blame God this time for our mess. It would seem logical to think this way, since we did accept Jesus into our life. Yes, we did, but did we truly give Him full control of our hearts and minds? At some point along the way of our walk with Jesus, we must have thought that God needed our help to tell our story.

You see, when we gave our life to Jesus, we were saying to God, "take full and absolute control of my life, I'm tired of making a mess of things." Read the following in the Book of Philippians what the Apostle Paul wrote:

ree

Philippians 3: 6

Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

PERSONNAL COMMENT:

As we come to "complete and absolute surrender" to God, let us remember to take our hands off the "pen of God," the Author of our life, and let Him complete our life story in us. Remember, as we try to help God in completing our life story, all we tend to do is make a mess of things again. Relax, understand what "true rest" means in our life. It means we do not have to do anything, except to trust our Heavenly Father to take care of everything we have already entrusted Him to do. (Matthew 11:28-30)
