As I read today in the Book of Daniel, I am reminded of the story of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylonia, as God used him to bring about the punishment and exile of Judah and Israel. God gave King Nebuchadnezzar the power and might to eventually become the most powerful king to rule the world.

His great pride became his great downfall.

Daniel: 4: 28-32

28 All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar. 29 At the end of the twelve months he was walking about the royal palace of Babylon. 30 The king spoke, saying, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?”

31 While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven: “King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you! 32 And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field.

You see God can give His power to man and God can take it away as He see fit. Throughout world's history God's sovereignty (His dominion and control) has always been at the very heart of man's universal, whether they want to admit it or not. As we look at what is happening in today's world...the corona virus, riots, unrest and political upheaval, God is still in control. All is happening for His purpose and plan.

The question comes to us...Are you in fear of what is happening today in your life or are you resting in the providence and wisdom of our almighty God? Will you submit and "absolutely surrender" all to God and trust Him for the outcome?"

PERSONNAL COMMENT:

As I have come to understand the God of the bible, I have come to recognize that He love us, He has forgiven us for our wrong doings, (our sins), through His Son Jesus, and wants us to be with Him in heaven someday soon. Are you willing to set aside your pride and accept Jesus as your personal Savior, if you haven't already done so, and then "absolutely surrender" all your pride and self-will to Him and find the true rest and peace you have always been looking for?
