September 03, 2021: Are Our Prayers and Cries Out to God Truly Heard? Can We Call Him: "Our Father"?

I am sure there have been many times in our early lives as Christians that our cries out to God went unheard. It seemed at times that our prayers were bouncing off a brick wall, only to bring us to deeper despair.

Through coming to understanding God's word and promises better, we can come to the point in our lives of saying that those feelings of "unheard prayers" are long gone. We can come to know in our hearts that every time we pray and speak to God, He is listening. Even in our thoughts as we speak to Him, He knows what we are going to say, and is always loving and caring.

That journey of getting to this point in our personal walk with God can be a long and difficult endeavor. There can be very deep valleys and rough terrains along the way. There can be times when we want to believe if God was truly there for us. Does He even exist? We can be assured today, that He does exist, and He does love us with an "everlasting love". As we humble ourselves before our God and submit to Him with a "broken heart", we can be overwhelmed with tears of joy of His love for us.

How is this possible that at one point in our lives that we could even think that there was not a God? And now to fully acknowledge from the depths of our hearts that He does exist and loves us beyond measure. Read what King David had to say in Psalm 18:

ree

Psalm 18: 6 and verses: 16-19 (NASB)

In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my God for help;

He heard my voice out of His temple, And my cry for help before Him came into His ears.

16 He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.

17 He delivered me from my strong enemy,

And from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.

18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my stay.

19 He brought me forth also into a broad place;

He rescued me because He delighted in me.

PERSONNAL COMMENT:

The secret in finding this kind of relationship with God must begin with ourselves. We must recognize how sinful we are as individuals. Every time we feel alone and helpless and feeling that God is not hearing us, "is our fault". We are so full of ourselves, our pride, our self-will..."All of Me, and None of Him"...The very opposite of what it should be: "All of Him and None of Us". It is not until we come to "Total and Absolute Surrender" to our God, will we find true rest and peace with God, and begin knowing that God is listening... We can come to Him in confidence and call Him, "Abba Father....Daddy!"
