In a previous issue of Our Daily Bread entitled, "Goodbyes and Hello," we are reminded of our fragile time here on earth. Many times, we must be saying "goodbye" to a dear loved one close to us, or even harder, a family member.
Those times when they do happen, can be difficult to say the least. But as we get past the initial loss and turn our eyes to our Creator, we are reminded that our life here on earth, though short, we can now focus on our future, our eternity in heaven with God and our loved ones.

Revelation 21: 1-4 (NKJV)
1Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Imagine, a life with no more death, morning, crying or pain...A life with our heavenly Father, and with our loved ones once again. What a joy that will be, what a reunion! The tears we will have will be tears of joy to be with our loved ones and God and Jesus in heaven.
But first, we must be ready for that glorious reunion. Have we secured your place in heaven? Have we accepted God's offer to be with Him in heaven along with our loved ones? Have we "absolutely surrendered" all of ourselves, our self-will to Him? The simple truth of scripture is this:
John 3: 16
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Personnel Comment:
God loves us so much, that He was willing to send His very own Son, Jesus, to come to this earth and die for our sins and to pay the penalty (death) for our sins on the cross of Calvary. All we need to do is believe in our hearts and confess with our mouth, that Jesus is Lord of our life. If we haven't already secured our place in heaven, now is a good time. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and believe, surrender all to Him, and you too will be at the reunion of your loved ones to say "Hello, again."
